Supreme Subtle Sound at West End Yoga

Supreme Subtle Sound at West End Yoga

Immerse yourself in an evening of sonic bliss- weaving the sacred sounds of chimes, crystal bowls and drums with a supreme release yoga practice.

Supreme Release yoga (SRY) is a therapeutic approach to asana that aims to gently decompress the spine. Founded in the tantric vision of the body, the physical practice is a gateway to a deep, meditative, inward experience. Methodically releasing long held bodily tension, SRY has a profound effect on body, mind, and spirit that is nourishing, revitalizing, and revelatory. While this practice is incredibly advanced, it is still accessible and suitable for many people because you’ll learn to utilize props in a way that truly supports you.

Accompanied by the gentle melodies from crystal singing bowls, rain sticks, and chimes, allow your your anxieties to be carried away and into a deep rest. In a process called entrainment, these beautiful sounds will help to synchronize your deep internal rhythms through their soothing tones. Sound meditations have been used for thousands of years as a technique to relax the mind and body while developing a deeper connection to self, as well as source.

Together, SRY and sound harmonize, expanding the benefits of each other. SRY will settle your mind and open the subtle channels of your body to become more available to the meditative benefits of sound. This opens the door to experience the full potential of the subtle vibrations- soothe the nervous system, calm and clarify the mind, deeply relax the body, invite inner revelation and meditation, and so much more.

This gathering begins with a guided SRY practice which will lead you into a therapeutic supported shavasana for the sound healing meditation. Time will be saved at the end to reflect, share, and integrate the experience.

Supreme Subtle Sound is suitable for all levels of experience with yoga and sound. This will be a primarily seated class and then reclined for the meditation (alternatives can be given for anyone unable to lay down for 30-40 minutes). It is highly beneficial for anyone who experiences stress, joint or back pain, anxiety, hypermobility, or depletion. Take a moment from your full, busy life to slow down, decompress, and tend to yourself.
