The Heart of Hanuman

An Afternoon of restoration, devotion, and wisdom

Sonia will guide you through a yoga practice centering inner stillness, softening, and rejuvenation. This restorative approach to entering the heart space encourages a state of availability and receptivity, which allows you to fully bask in its sweetness! Poses will be primarily seated and supine, and incorporate generous use of props and support.

Sharing stories and pastimes is a nectar- nurturing, sweet, and rich with sustenance. A way to not only restore our bodies, but our hearts, minds and spirits as well. Sonia expertly weaves storytelling and mantra throughout the workshop. You will experience the epic tales and also learn how they can directly impact and transform your daily life off of your mat.

Hanuman

Known for both his mischief and maturity, his sweetness and sincerity, Hanuman is a form of the divine who is both approachable, and beloved by many. His lilas (divine play or stories) are an inspiration for our own growing bhakti (devotion). He shows us the power of love in action, and how an open heart can inspire all aspects of our lives.

Hatha Yoga at West End Yoga Studio

“Ha” represents the Sun and “tha” the moon.  Thousands of years old, Hatha Yoga guides Practitioners through breathwork with the Asanas toward reaching an energetic balance of the Mind and Body.  Poses are more static- unlike a Vinyasa or Flow class where the poses are woven, Hatha moves with a slower approach, holding traditional Asana, and a deep focus on the breath.

Hatha Yoga can improve the Practitioner's mood, decrease stress and anxiety, tones the muscles of all large groups, improves posture, improves balance, and is a wonderful compliment to one's whole wellness.

Baba's Feed Project, Inc. is a California non-profit corporation. Our 501(c)(3) application is in process and pending.  Baba's Feed Project was created to purchase food and deliver food kits to families throughout Northern India who are deprived of the opportunity to work for survival. You can read about the founders & organization here. Everyone deserves the right to have their basic needs fulfilled.

We believe that sustainable work is locally-led. Along with implementing community-owned feeding projects, we dream of providing education and employment opportunities.

Baba Neem Karoli was a much-beloved Indian saddhu whose teachings were quite simple. He told his devotees to "Love, serve and feed people," and said, "God comes to the hungry as food." His ashram fed everyone who came to visit, and although he left his body in 1973, devotees worldwide still honor and worship him. The founders of this organization - from New Zealand, India and the U.S. - are among those devotees, and were inspired to live his teachings. We know that when people aren't scrambling to find scraps to eat life feels a little less stressful. They can even think a bit about their children's future. They can dare to dream. With full bellies, everyone can stay healthier and life is a little easier. Our feed kits can help.
